WHAT ARE THE SUTRAS?
Every day, millions of people enjoy group Asana classes. And yet, to fully understand YOGA’S true power, purpose, and potential, we must turn our attention to its foundation text, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Presented in succinct, multilayered aphorisms, the Sutras explore the nature of consciousness, reality and the human mind. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras is widely regarded as the single-most important text on Yoga and widely accepted as the world’s most important Yogic text, the Sutras offer a wealth of highly adaptable tools and techniques for optimal well-being and more sustained joy. Compiled over 2,300 years ago, the Yoga Sutras pre-vision the contemporary sciences of Positive Psychology, Epigenetics and Quantum Mechanics. Studying the Sutras with a knowledgeable teacher with whom one resonates can be a reflective, highly illuminating journey into our own hearts and minds. An ongoing relationship with the Yoga Sutras is beneficial for anyone seeking more meaning and joy in their lives and a prerequisite for any authentic teacher of Yoga. This STUDY will present Yoga’s profound, wisdom teachings in a meaningful, contemporary context. Join us and learn each chapter’s Key Sutras and core principles along with their practical, transformational applications.
